Job Title: Medical Technologist

Location: Palatka, FL

Available Shifts:

• Days/6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Blood Bank/Generalist)
• Nights/3-12s/7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Summary and Qualifications:

You Will:

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples within set time frames
• Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor
• Complete all required documentation related to patient results
• Perform stat procedures within specified turnaround times
• Exercise judgment and independent thinking in result correlation and interpretation
• Review and resolve pending logs and result logs
• Perform quality control procedures and handle problem/critical specimens or results

You Should Have:

• 2-Year/Associate Degree required
• 4-Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred
• Less than 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist
• State of Florida Technologist License required or ability to obtain during interview process
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas (Generalist highly preferred): Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or equivalent
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
