Automated Testing Specialist

Schedule

AM shifts available with start times at 0600, 0630, or 0700. This position does not require on-call duties and includes working every third weekend and two holidays per year.

Job Description

The Automated Testing Specialist performs and reports various analyses from multiple specimen sources, ensuring the delivery of the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. This role requires maintaining productivity and managing multiple work processes efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an expected level of productivity and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Handle specimens correctly, confirming identification and specimen suitability.
• Utilize appropriate accessioning procedures and recognize discrepancies on patient orders.
• Resolve and report problems and solutions as appropriate.
• Perform and record instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Replenish reagents and supplies as per established protocols.
• Follow established reporting procedures using computerized, verbal, and manual methods.
• Navigate multiple computer applications effectively for job functionality.
• Assist in the training and orientation of new employees and participate in educational activities to stay current in the field.
• Successfully complete initial and subsequent competency exams as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Medical Technology.
• Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience operating laboratory equipment and reporting laboratory results.
• Skills in organizing, time management, and preceptor abilities are essential.
