The Hydraulics Lab Manager for Culligan International, reporting to the VP of Engineering, oversees all hydraulics laboratory operations, providing testing and analysis of water treatment products in support of new product development, research, quality, regulatory and global BUs. Manage laboratory staff, develop and enforce safety and quality assurance protocols, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards for drinking and working water applications. This role involves technical work, project coordination, and administrative duties like budgeting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hydraulics laboratory, including supervising personnel and scheduling and prioritizing projects.
- Implement and manage lab QA/QC programs to ensure the accuracy and precision of all lab testing and test equipment.
- Develop, implement and maintain ISO 17025 compliance for the laboratory.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise lab staff. Conduct performance evaluations and foster a positive, high-performing team environment.
- Oversee the operation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of all test equipment.
- Forecast and manage spend for supplies and equipment, and maintain proper inventory levels.
- Manage the development of new and maintenance of existing test equipment
- Contribute to the development of DV test plans. Oversee the execution of test plans to ensure the proper output is captured and recorded.
- Prepare and deliver detailed technical and performance reports for management, regulatory agencies, and product development teams.
- Ensure all laboratory personnel strictly follow safety protocols and procedures. Conduct safety training, audits and risk assessments.
- As needed, act as a technical resource for Dealers, Field service teams and other Culligan BUs.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve lab processes, increase efficiency, and enhance quality.
- Perform other lab and industry related responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- At least 8 years of experience working in an environmental or water testing laboratory, with previous experience in a supervisory or management role and with ISO compliance.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, water treatment chemistry and application, test equipment spec/development, and water test standards.
- Exceptional ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of technical staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Keen analytical and critical-thinking skills to troubleshoot issues and analyze data effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Target Salary Range: $115,000 - $135,000 per year. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
