POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Administrative Director, coordinates and provides support of the Medical Staff's credentialing process of healthcare professionals in an acute care hospital setting. Key responsibilities include credentialing process management for appointment and re-credentialing applications, OPPE / FPPE audit compliance, verification of credentials, database maintenance, compliance assurance, documentation preparation and interdepartmental coordination. Assist with the preparation of monthly meeting assignments as directed and ER On-call scheduling. Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements. Works with outside office personnel and performs other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
Associate in Arts degree preferred
At least 2 years' experience in credentialing Physicians and Allied Health Professionals in an acute care hospital setting
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in credentialing software and Microsoft Office Suite
Must possess qualifications sufficient to be eligible to sit for National Credentialing Certification Examination (CPCS)

Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
