Job Description

The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures effectively in the Blood Bank and Microbiology departments. The role may require floating to different areas of the lab as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience as a generalist and specifically in blood banking.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests in Microbiology and Blood Bank.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory results.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the lab environment.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.
• Participate in training and educational activities as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated experience in Blood Bank and Microbiology.
